Arts and Crafts Product Development


The main focus of the project is to reach out to unemployed people and teach them a skill to sustain themselves. The skill empowers them to start their own home industry. The course content teaches how to make costume jewellery, paper flowers, packaging and herbal soaps.

In December the students worked on Christmas decorations. Some marketed their goods at Cape Town gardens. This trip was at an opportune time to coincide with the tourist market and festival activities of the City.

Most of the ladies that attended classes will join us again during next year when we start our classes again.The students certainly had a positive experience and realized that, with a little bit of effort, they can earn an income.

CAFDA Merchandise Store will host its final sale for the year on the corner of Eighth Avenue and Prince George Drive, Grassy Park, on Saturday December 3, from 9am to 1pm. 

Old and new goods will be on sale.
